JACOB N. LIPMAN RELIGIOUS SCHOOL

Now you can learn the Shabbat services from the Siddur Sim Shalom here at www.sidduraudio.com and learn a HafTorah at haftorahaudio.com

An important lesson we learn in our religious school is that of hope. It is the message expressed in the Hatikvah, the national anthem of Israel, which many of our students know by heart. We end each day of religious school singing the Hatikvah as a community. I know that all of our wonderful teachers share in my hope that our school is a place where every students feels they are valued and that we welcome them through our doors with love and tremendous confidence in their ability.

The school is now entering a very busy time of the year. The second graders are preparing for their Siyyum; the third and fourth grades are preparing for their Kabbalat Shabbat Service and the fifth and sixth grades are studying the prayers for the Havdalah class service.

On February 5th, the fifth grade class will be participating with the brotherhood in the World Wide Wrap. Please make every effort to attend with your child. Thank you to Harris Bloomwald and Gary Rabinovitz for their help in making this a meaningful experience for the students.

The Kindergarten, First, Second and Third Grade classes and their parents are invited to a special program to celebrate Tu B’Shevat at Temple Beth Am in Randolph from 9:30-11:30 on February 5th. Temple Beth Am, Ahavat Torah and Temple Beth Emunah will be celebrating two holidays together this year Tu B’Shevat at Temple Beth Am and Passover at Temple Beth Emunah. This is not in place of regular classes.

Our 6th and 7th grade classes will be volunteering on March 13th at Cradles to Crayons as part of the B’Nai Telem curriculum which includes study and community service.

Copies of the weekly torah portion are available downstairs on the bulletin board near the classrooms. Please feel free to take a copy.

Love and B’Shalom,

Fran Litner
Educational Director
