USY NEWS
Brockton Kadima, Jr USY and Sr USY are really excited for the events that are planned in the coming months.
Bowling, the movies, the Kadima Splash and Supper and many other activities have kept us entertained over the previous few months, but the upcoming months promise more events and exiting activities!
Kadima will participate in a regional Rock Climbing Lock-In in New Bedford this weekend. First we'll tire ourselves out scaling up walls all evening and then we'll get a chance to sleep over with all of the new friends we've made. This should be a great event and I know I can't wait! The same day, the Jrs and Srs will be going Sno-Tubing. This event is always a blast and this year should be no different.
In a couple of weeks (March 2nd) the Jr USYers along with the Kadimaniks will be playing LazerTag in Randolph. This is always a favorite and I'm sure the more USYers we have participate the more fun it will be! More information will follow on these events.
On March 9th, the following week, Newton is hosting IsraelFest 2008. This event is created to honor Israeli culture, traditions and life. There will be educational experiences available to all attendees, from shopping in the 'shuk' to leaving a message at the 'Kotel,' and everything in between. This event is open to families and USYers of all ages and will feature experiences that appeal to each age group, including Israeli dance, games, trivia, music, slide shows and more! Be sure to sign up at IsraelFest2008@gmail.com and put RSVP in the subject line. The cost is $8 with an RSVP and $10 without one. Food is included in the admission price.
On March 23rd there will be a small Purim Carnival where we will need Jr and Sr USYers to help run the booths. Again, more information will follow.
Membership and participation are what make these groups run. If you are not already a Brockton USY member, please sign your child up today! Questions, suggestions and comments are always welcomed. Please send them to LeahBF@gmail.com and I hope to see you at one of the next events!

youth organization supported by conservative
Temples.
Our new web site is

We hope you will visit our site periodically
throughout the year and join our youth

USY SOCIAL ACTION/ TIKUM
OLAM PROJECT
As part of USY's Social Action/Tikun
Olam Project, this year Brockton USY
has many activities and events planned.
One fundraising project that we are
particularly proud of is our "TO
Bricks" project. The walls of
the Youth Lounge are made with visible
cinderblocks, which are painted white.
We plan to "sell blocks to USYers
past and present, so that you can
forever inscribe yourself on to the
wall of the Youth Lounge. The white
walls will soon be decorated with
the names of the people who have made
USY what it is today, and those who
will make it what it will be in the
future. A percentage of the money
raised will go to Tikun Olam. USY's
charity to build a better world. The
rest of the money will go to help
Brockton USYers attend events that
they would not otherwise be able to
attend without financial assistance.
We appreciate any help you can give,
and we hope that your name can contribute
to brightening both the walls of the
Youth, and the lives of others. The
cost of the bricks will be $18.00
per brick if you have any questions
please feel free to call the office
at 508-583-5810
Brockton USY is continuing our ongoing
project to raise money for Tikum Olam(TO),
the official charity of USY. As Jews,
we are commanded to do deeds of loving
kindness and to give to charities
that help to repair the world. We
are told that if we help one person
we are really helping everyone. With
this in mind, Brockton USY will be
starting a new fundraiser that everyone
can be a part of.
The Shoe City Bottle and Can redemption
center has set up an account under
Brockton USY's name. The Redemption
Center is located in Brockton at the
corner of Pearl and West Chestnut
Street (Approximatly 1 mile from Temple
Beth Emunah.) All you need to do to
is bring your empties and tell them
that they are for Brockton USY. Most
of the employees of the Shoe City
Center are mentally challenged citizens.
Not only will you be contributing
to our USY charity but you will be
doing a Social Action Mitzvah at the
same time.
